A Talk on “Enacting the Human in Imagined Educational Technofutures” was conducted by Prof RadhikaGorur (Deakin University, Australia) organized by DST-CPR (UoH) and School of Social Sciences  on 6th December 2024.

The talk highlighted the ways in which the influential organisations such as UNESCO, OECD and World Bank define and reconfigure the relationship between technology and humans. The talk also covered the aspects of redefining ‘human’, identifying ways to retain characteristics peculiar to humans especially in indigenous population groups, importance of protecting the traditional knowledge specific to the population groups and efficient delivery of knowledge to future generations.

The interaction between Prof. RadhikaGorur and the audience demonstrated that technology is a cutting-edge sword and understanding human adoption behaviour (response and receptivity) to a particular technology may be a critical point in shaping the future of education.
